Sejarah Boot Dr. Martens

http://www.docsrus.co.uk/DrMartens-logo.jpg

Puncaknya di tahun 1900-an, sepatu Docmart berkembang menjadi trend yg menjangkiti semua orang, bukan hanya sub-kultur Punk saja. Ia menjadi industri besar.

TOKYO SKA PARADISE ORCHESTRA

In the late 1980s, there was a band executing countless lives on streets and clubs of Tokyo…, their name is TOKYO SKA PARADISE ORCHESTRA. Their dynamic yet absolute performance drew growing audiences, and so releases the first 12' vinyl record "TOKYO SKA PARADISE ORCHESTRA" from an indie label in 1989. The following year, gaining more and more fans, they make a major debut by the single "MONSTER ROCK," and its recorded album "SUKAPARA TOU-JYO." With the combination of the roots ska and the borderless sound -"TOKYO SKA"- the band gradually conquers the reputation as one of the biggest names as live bands in the whole wide world.

In 1991, the band drew over 10,000 audiences at Japan's most prestigious venue, Nippon Budokan. Performing in major venues as well as small live houses, the band released 13 original albums and done over 1,500 live performances both in and out of Japan.

After the European release of the album "FULL-TENSION BEATERS" (2000.7,) in December 2000 the band toured 5 European countries and performed 11 lives in 12 days. Until the tour final countdown live in Berlin, they made every European skinheads hustle, inspiring the rock maniacs with their sound.

Starting from August 2001, the band releases 3 singles, all featuring guest vocalists. The recorded album "Stompin' On DOWN BEAT ALLEY" (2002.5) aced the Japanese chart in its first appearance. Then the band performed in numerous open air festivals, like Japan's massive summer event, Fuji Rock Festivals. In July 2002, having the featured vocalists as the show's guest, the group performed in front of 15,000 fans at another giant venue, Yokohama Arena full of 15,000 fans.

In November 2001, drummer Kin-Ichi Motegi joins the band after support playing for 2 years. This enabled the band to get hold of a free and powerful beat, and in March 2003, released the 11th original album "HIGH NUMBERS." Like the last record, this too was well acclaimed and entered the Japanese chart in second place. After touring Japan (27 cities/ 34 stages) in the album named tour, from June 2003, the band sets off for a 90 days Europe tour. This was an enriching experience for the band, as in 26 days they visited 8 countries and performed 18 stages, some of which were the stages in major massive festivals like Glastonbury Festival in England and Eurockeennes in France.

In June 2004, the band executes the first US tour (7 cities/ 10 stages.) The band performed in "Bonnaroo Music Festival" as the first foreign artist, and from late August, takes off for the third European Tour (11 cities/ 12 stages.) Mostly playing at live houses, and also performing in Netherland's "LOWLANDS FESTIVAL," the band returns to Japan getting solid feedbacks. Returning home, the band executes a live gig at Yoyogi Daiichi Taikukan on October 22nd drawing over 10,000 audiences, and tours Japan across 23 cities performing 38 stages.

On March 9, 2005, the band releases the album "ANSWER" which is full of tracks that have been polished throughout the numerous lives. So although an original album, it sounds as if it is TOKYO SKA PARADISE ORCHESTRA's greatest hits collection.
After releasing "ANSWER," the band goes on an auditorium tour in Japan performing 29 stages, and then flies to Europe. This Europe tour visiting 8 countries of 18 stages included first encounters such as Spain (Madrid and Barcelona both sold out) and Denmark (Roskilde Festival.) Returning home, after appearing in Fuji Rock Festival '05, the band performs in Summer Stage '05, a free concert in New York Central Park that have been continuing for over 25 years. The band played much in open air festivals, living the days like a pure and simple live band.

Starting from December 14th, 2005, the band again features guest vocalists and release 3 singles. On June 7th, the band releases the album "Wild Peace" and sets off on a tour from July. This "Wild Peace Tour," including the stages in Vietnam and the touring in Europe, counted to 70 lives in 5 months, and results as the largest and longest tour ever in the band's history. Having the featured vocalists as guests of the tour's final stage at Saitama Super Arena on January 14th, 2007, the band pulled up to 15,000 people. Their performance, developed through thousands of live stages, was greatly acclaimed by affiliates and audiences.

On March 21st, 2007, a best album was released which records the tracks after transferring to Avex. "SMILE," a documentary movie of the tour of latter 2006, was out on March 31st. On the other hand, an European tour starting late June is scheduled, and will appear in giant events like Montreux Jazz Festival and Eurockeennes.

Madness - Keep Moving

What do you do if you're a group for whom the dance-rock imperative has started to feel like a cliché? If you're bright and British, it's likely you'll either break up the band or take up some new and drastic tangent, just to keep things interesting. Two groups who've chosen the latter course are Thompson Twins and Madness. The three Twins made their name with tunes like "Lies" and "In the Name of Love" – bright, splashy synth sprints designed to pack dance floors. Madness germinated during the Two Tone craze of 1980, suffusing ska music with a dose of zany, vaudevillian humor. Both groups subscribe to the never-repeat-yourself credo of the new-age U.K., which may explain why they're sounding quite different these days.

In the Thompson Twins' case, there are fewer beats per minute on Into the Gap, their third U.S. album. Indeed, leader Tom Bailey and company have slowed it all down to bring the human factor into clearer focus. And while they pay frequent lip service to the word dance, they intend it more in the sense of T.S. Eliot than of K.C. and the Sunshine Band. The sunshine, in fact, is all but obscured by the drizzly day the band evokes. Into the Gap abounds with water imagery – the rain and the sea – both in Alannah Currie's lyrics and Tom Bailey and Joe Leeway's liquid keyboards. It runs from "Doctor! Doctor!" (which begs, "Dance with me/Across the sea") to "Who Can Stop the Rain." In the Twins' view, the "rain" that haunts our lives encompasses personal tribulations ("Storm on the Sea") and world problems ("Into the Gap," which addresses the gulf between East and West). Throughout, the band maintains a hypnotic, swaying groove that suggests reserves of pastoral contentment even in the wake of the storm. As they themselves urge on "Hold Me Now," "Let loving start."

While the Thompson Twins are looking for a spiritual high, Madness settle for high spirits on Keep Moving. In a sense, Madness have gone back to their roots – the British art-pop song, as epitomized by the midperiod Kinks. They have crafted an eccentric, eclectic collection that comprises frilly, flower-power-pop truffles, rock-operatic miniatures about lost faces in the crowd and quaint slices of British life. Snatches of Sixties songs and styles waft through these thoroughly modern tunes like so many friendly ghosts – for instance, the Steve Cropper-type guitar fills that toughen up "Keep Moving," and the Peter and Gordon harmonies of "The Sun and the Rain." Not to mention the organ on "Prospects," which puts a giddy Caribbean spin on Procol Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale." And who else but the Kinks could have inspired a title like "Victoria Gardens"? Keep Moving is such a delightful musical potpourri that Kinks cultists and British Invasion curators may soon be wearing god save madness buttons.

Go Jimmy Go

1996-2008: Celebrating 11 Years Of An Original Island Sound...Go Jimmy Go has been the front-runner in Hawai’i’s music industry, creating original rhythms since the mid ‘90s. With a wholly unique sound, the key to their success has been the band’s feverish chemistry of musicians. With a foundation of driving beats, drummer/vocalist Shon Gregory and bass man Jayder set the pace for Ian Ashley’s melodic guitar/vocals. Ryan Kunimura on trombone and tenor saxophonist Eric White add the sweet memorable flavor of “old Jamaica” while the frenetic moves and soulful vocals of lead singer Jason “Bison” Friedmann never cease to amaze audiences the world around. In 2008, look forward to the Hawaiian Punch Europe Tour, a Japan Tour and a 5th album around the end of summer.

While they have been influenced, and even personally taught by Jamaican ska/reggae originators, like the Skatalites and the Upsetters (Original backing band for the Wailers), the band sees its music through an American lens. This band is equally appreciative of old blues, 60s soul, rock, and Rnb as it is of reggae, rocksteady, dub, and Ska. It is as if the Rolling Stones or the Yardbirds had grown up on Bob Marley as well as Muddy Waters. From their 1996 release, Better Late Than Never through to last year's, Peculiar, the NYC-based band, the Slackers have established themselves as America's premiere interpreters and innovators of Jamaican music. In their new release, The Boss Harmony Sessions,

SKA - P

Ska-P (pronounced [esˈkape]) is a ska punk band formed in Madrid[1] (Vallecas), Spain, in 1994, that could be categorized, politically, as an anti-establishment musical group. It is one of the most popular ska bands in Spain and Europe.

Musically, despite their fun image, Ska-P has well-rehearsed and tight arrangements, and as of 2002, includes among its members a small but striking brass section which gives the band a powerful sound.

Their nonconformist attitude is also evident in their eccentric haircuts. Some band members have mohawks while others are almost bald-shaven (with a ponytail at the back).

At the end of 2004, they announced work on a new album. After voting 4 against 2, in February 2005, the sudden and unexpected announcement was made that the band would take a break to allow the members to work on side projects, though some considered the band to have dissolved. The band's worldwide farewell tour of 2005 ended in Buenos Aires, Argentina in October of that year. Their farewell concert in Leganés (near Madrid), on September 24 2005, filled the 10,000-seat La Cubierta Stadium.

In April 2008 the band confirmed they were getting back together and on September 5th, 2008 released the single "Crimen sollicitationis". This was followed in October 2008 by a new album, Lágrimas y Gozos (Tears and Joys), which was released on October 7, 2008. The release of the album would be followed by a brief tour.[2]

Ska-P returned to La Cubierta Stadium on December 27, 2008 to perform their only concert in Spain of that tour.[3]

Yes, you are right. It is a typical trait of human mankind to start off clubs to socialize and join in on doing such useful things as smoking cigars, read the newspaper or mow the lawn together. You never know...

But a great club for sure is France's finest TWO TONE CLUB. Founded in 1999 by former members of the GANGSTERS ALL STARS, the club is rooted in Ska and Reggae with a driving beat and since then unstoppable in their mission for Jamaican music. Numerous shows by these nine sympathetic guys followed, all over France and in the neighbouring European countries.

The Two Tone Club knows how to capture their audience with a melange of traditional Ska, e.g. like being played by The SKATALITES or LAUREL AITKEN and later influences as THE SPECIALS, THE SELECTER or THE BEAT. No wonder, that they've shared the stage with some of these legendary bands since then.

Right now, the band has finished their latest full-length album, which will be released through GROVER RECORDS in March 2005. Following this will be a massive heap of shows around Europe! This is not a restricted club for members only, but music is the card for entrance and once you get a ticket by the TWO TONE CLUB, you'll be glad to join the club! ce's finest TWO TONE CLUB. Gerhana Ska Cinta - this is SKA

Gerhana Skacinta is a Malaysian band that specializes in the musical style of ska. The name is composed of gerhana 'elipse', ska, and cinta 'love'. Although based in a country far from more famous centers of ska culture, the music of the band is not a fusion of Caribbean and Southeast Asian genres, but instead pure, traditional ska style. They are signed to the Clockwork Records label. The band is influenced by bands such as The Skatalites, Lord Kitchener and The Wailers.

Mr. Symarip - The Skinhead Dem A Come

Since 1988 officially the Band Symarip/Pyramids do not exist anymore!!!
The lead singer Roy Ellis is now known as Mr.Symarip and back from the moon!!!

Hello Skinheads, and Ska & Reggae Fans.

This is Roy Ellis, lead singer and song writer from Symarip.
Just want to let you all know it is so great to be back on Ska & Reggae music scene after such a long

time disappearing from in England 1971 and headed for Germany, Autsria, Switzerland, Spain, France,
Finnland,Sweaden,to pioneer the Ska and reggae music.

Wish did`nt catch on by the people till in 1980. At that same time, not knowing that Symarip would turn
out to be a legend band on the Skinhead reggae scene.
I would like to thank the Skinhead scene,
Rudeattack in Luzern -Switzerland who had found out that I`m living in Switzerland since 25 Years.
they came to my house one day to meet me and try to talk me in to go back on the road becaused Symarip
have so much fans all over the world. And they would like to see you and hear you.
So I said that`s great why not I will !!

So the end of 2001 they link me up with one of the best Swiss Ska and Reggae band called, Kalles Kaviar.

Since then I have been also backed by other great Bands like The Aggronauts from Barcelona,
The Solitos from Berlin, and the Nr. 1 Station from London and the Aggrolites from L. A. - U.S.A

Jogjakarta Traditional Skinhead

http://www.anti-kultur.de/images/product_images/popup_images/125_0.jpg

Kenapa skinhead?

Tradisi skinhead lebih banyak persamaan di musik, style sama way of life. For trendy shit only, forget it!!!

Klo masih kurang jelas apa tuh Skinhead, mending baca aja buku karangan George Marshal "kaum skinhead" atau liat aja film this is england sebagai acuan dan pikirkan lagi alasan anda masuk ke scene ini!! Dan ketika disinggung mengenai perlawanan yang biasa dilekatkan dengan tradisi subkultur, banyak dari anggota scene ini yang mengatakan, “we don’t give a shit about that!! What we have in common is just about how we proud to our life, to our self and to the community”

Kita muncul karena kita beda!!”. Are you skins out there agree with this?

sekarang terserah Loe..

take this in a very enjoyable moment and let's take ur boot's and dance with us... ! (by:eyank1968)
